When the Method Is the Craft

Most blends are built before the roast. The beans go in together and the heat decides the outcome. This one is different — and that difference is everything.

Sourced from across Southeast Asia's finest specialty-grade regions, each origin here is roasted separately to its own peak before the blend ever happens. What that gives you in the cup is something most blends can't: distinct character from each origin, fully developed on its own terms, then brought together for balance. The brightness of the high-altitude beans stays bright. The earthy depth of the lowland varietals stays grounded. The smooth weight of the darker profiles stays present. Nothing gets lost in the merge — because nothing was rushed to keep up with anything else.

That's the rarest thing in this trade. Plenty of barbers can run a clean fade but freeze up with shears. Plenty can cut with shears but can't touch clippers. And most leave the straight razor alone entirely — too slow, too much skill, too easy to get wrong. The one who can do all of it, and do each right, is the one worth driving across town for. This is that cup. As meticulous as Mr. Lee, it treats every bean to the very best that bean has to give — nothing compromised to force the blend.

This is my favorite coffee — the one I keep coming back to when I want the full range, and the reason it earned its own label and a spot in my What I Drink collection. Comes out perfect when brewed with the Kalita Wave Tsubame. Lively and grounding in the same sip, the kind of complexity that holds up cup after cup.

Featured in the What I Drink collection. Six voices. One direction. No filler.

Precise, dynamic, and crafted for those who understand that the method is part of the quality — this is Blade & Bean's Kopi Safari.
