Two chairs live in this name.

The first is mine — the master barber's chair. It's in the back. It's gold for the standard it sets.

The second is real history. Around Medellín, the slopes were too steep for mules, so men called Silleteros carried everything up and down the Andes strapped to their backs in wooden frame-chairs — including, for generations, paying passengers. Hard ground that demands everything from the people who work it.

I understand that ground. The Marine Corps molded me, for better and worse. Those who know me, understand. I carried this barbershop on my back for months by myself, working here alone just hoping someone would come in. Same way those silleteros carried chairs where animals couldn't climb.

That same hard ground makes this coffee great. Brutal slopes at altitude force the cherry to ripen slow in warm days and cold nights — concentrating structure into something layered. Volcanic loam drives sparkling fruit. Four varieties — old heirloom Typica and Caturra, modern Castillo and Colombia — bring tradition and precision into the same cup.

In the cup: layered dark chocolate on the body. Dried orange and ripe berry through the mid-palate. Bold finish complex enough the last sip reads different than the first. Medium Roast held to show the roast, not cover it. Versatile in the brewer — drip, pour-over, or AeroPress all hold up.

Blade & Bean was born in Cedar Park Barbershop with the same standards as our straight razor work. Real, authentic, old-fashioned barbershop. Licensed barbers only. Over 100-year-old antique chairs, taxidermy on the walls, built by a friend and client on a handshake.

That lone chair in the back of the shop became an award-winning shop where barbers can build their ability, craft, lifestyle and income to unheard of levels. Not because I did it alone — because hard ground builds steady hands. I choose every barber the same way I choose every bean: by hand, against a standard, no exceptions. And, to be honest, that's how they chose me too.

THE GOLDEN CHAIR is the standard. Confident from the first sip, because it earned the right to be.

Exclusive specialty grade. Roasted in small batches after you order. Never before.
